A challenge for you this Thanksgiving.

It's that time of the year. The time where gratitude and giving thanks is on our mind. And I'd like to challenge you with something.

This is the Walk You Through It Blog where I take you with me on a journey through things I've struggled with and together we walk through how to overcome them and move forward.

"Everything we do should be a result of our gratitude for what God has done for us." - Lauryn Hill

2021 has been an amazing year.

I know some of you may not agree with me here but I feel like I have so much to be grateful for this year. Between planning for my wedding, focusing heavily on my coaching business, this blog, and my podcast, and getting a promotion at UPS, I really feel grateful for all I have received this year.

Life is pretty damn good right now and I feel like it's on its way to becoming better. Everything is coming together and it makes me want to give thanks for all that I've been blessed with.

What are you grateful for?

I want you to reflect on everything that has happened this year and ask yourself "What is something that happened in 2021 that I can feel gratitude towards?"

It can be big or it can be little. It could be this moment right now... feel gratitude for the air filling up your lungs as you breathe. You're alive. Feel gratitude for your heart because it's a gift. As long as it beats, you live.

Make a list.

Journaling is a great way to start off your day. Take a few minutes to sit down and write out all the things that you have in your life that you are grateful for. Since it's 2021 I'm challenging you to write out a list of 21 things that you feel grateful for.

I'm going to do this challenge with you and I'll start.

Things I'm grateful for:

  1. Family

  2. Getting married in the spring

  3. My fiancée

  4. My son

  5. My daughter

  6. My coaching business

  7. My love for personal development

  8. Becoming a supervisor at UPS

  9. Being alive

  10. Making new friends this year

  11. My clients

  12. My health

  13. Being clean from drugs

  14. You, reading this right now.

  15. Podcasts

  16. Music

  17. The internet for allowing me to connect with the world

  18. My ability to speak

  19. My love for meeting people

  20. My freedom

  21. The delicious meal that I'm eating later with the people I love.

Okay, it's your turn.

Make your list and write at least 21 things that you're grateful for. If you find more, then great! One thing that's great about a list like this is that you can always return to it when you feel down and look over it. There's always something to feel grateful for. You just need to look for it.

Happy Thanksgiving! Be safe and give thanks for the things on that list.

Thank you and be safe today!
